With the US giant about to consider New Zealand as a separate “cloud computing region”, local provider Catalyst Cloud is sceptical regarding claims about increased data sovreignty as a result.

“Overseas technology companies are governed and influenced by the laws in their home countries”, says Catalyst Cloud chief executive Doug Dixon. He also claims Digital Minister David Clark should be challenged on the assertion.
